Carter Product Offering

Carter Manufacturing has been producing bearings in Grand Haven, Michigan for over 50 years. We have a full line of standard cam followers and cam yoke rollers, including a larger variety of specialty items such as stainless steel, chrome-plated and poly-coated bearings than anyone in the industry.

At Carter, we specialize in custom solutions and customer service. Our inside sales team, engineering, production, and inventory are all located under the same roof, helping us to sustain some of the fastest lead times in the industry on special bearings.

Standard Bearings

These easily mounted bearings are ideally suited for many cam or track roller applications, particularly where loads and shock are moderate. Two standard choices: Sealed with hexagonal socket or with slotted head.

Metric Cam Followers

Recently added is a full line of metric style cam followers with outer diameters ranging from 16mm up to 72mm. All metric cam followers come standard with a crowned outer race. Cylindrical outer races and eccentric sleeves are available upon request.

Neverlube™

Carter's advanced design self-lubricating sleeve bearing provides continuous, dependable lubrication for the life of the unit. Because there are no internal moving elements, Neverlube™ bearings offer trouble-free operation in a wide variety of applications, including situations where the equipment is subject to frequent wash downs. The self-lubricating feature also helps reduce maintenance costs and assures adequate lubrication at all times, greatly reducing the possibility of bearing failure and unscheduled downtime.

Heavy Cylindrical Double Row Roller Bearings

CARTER’S Heavy Cylindrical Roller Bearings (CDR/YDR Series) are interchangeable with standard needle CAM follower designs. The comparatively large diameter of the rollers provides substantially increased dynamic capacity and fatigue life. CARTER’S CDR/YDR series is available in stud and yoke type configurations. CARTER standard stock sizes of the CDR/YDR series starts at 1-1/2 inches outside diameter to 4-inch diameter. Chrome-Plated Bearings

Looking for good corrosion resistance without the expense of stainless steel? These rollers have 440C stainless steel needles only with chrome-plated carbon steel exposed surfaces to meet your needs. All have a hex socket head. Lubrication holes are located on the radial diameter of the stud stem and in the threaded end of the stud, unless otherwise noted. End seals block contaminants. Maximum temperature is 250F. Mounting nut not included.

Xtenda™ Stainless

Our Stainless Cam Followers and Cam Yoke Rollers are used for numerous standard and special applications. These bearings are in used throughout the world, operating reliably in a multitude of chemical, food and industrial environments.

Polyurethane Coated

Polycoated bearings can be used for standard and specialized applications where noise reduction, reduced wear and non marking are important factors in operations.

Hi-Rollers™

Hi-Rollers™ are manufactured with either deep groove ball bearings or tapered roller bearings, they are capable of handling combined radial and thrust loads. They will also run at much higher speeds than needle bearing cam followers. Hi-Rollers™ are tightly sealed with an expansion plug on one end and feature radial contact lip seals on the bearings. They are excellent for use in high moisture or dusty environments.
